Their company website consists of a single jpg

A Bean and Cheese Burrito, no cheese, with guacamole, from Casa Burrito on Portage.

I was going to go for the Southern Spiced Soy, but they were out.

Unconventional stuff. Broken tortilla chips in the burrito. Molasses in the beans. And toasted in the oven for a crispy outer layer.

Really? Really.

California Burrito, no dairy, with guacamole, from Don Pedro's Mexican Grill for lunch. To go.

Strike 1: They put cheese on it so they had to remake it while I sit and wait.

Strike 2: They're out of "big" containers so they had to dice it up and use multiple, smaller containers.

Strike 3: I noticed when I got back to work that they forgot to give me guacamole, even though the server who handed me the bag explicitly told me there was guacamole in one of the containers.

Strike 4: I returned to Don Pedro's, and after opening all 3 containers and verifying I am not lying about not receiving guacamole, I get this tiny container relayed from the kitchen. $2.99 for that little container of guacamole? Really? And it's not even particularly good guacamole...

I'd like to think it was a one time thing, or that they are getting into the groove of opening a new restaurant, but these things seem to happen every time I go there. For all the hassle at a cost of $17 and change, this isn't exactly something I am going to subject myself to again anytime soon.

Anniversary Burrito

Not my first visit, and definitely not my last, I went to Mondragon Bookstore & Coffee House for dinner. As usual, I got the Burrito with Que Pasa Chips on the side. Sweet burrito goodness, fork and knife style!

Denver Airpot

I took the reverse flight path back to Winnipeg, and had a stopover in Denver, with just enough time to hit the Duty Free and grab a burrito. Not a whole lot of burrito proprietors to choose from, so I take a second stab at Que Bueno Mexican Grill.

My burrito on my way south was unspectacular... and this one was too.

I like zucchini as much as the next guy, but should it be a staple burrito filling? No. It's a cheap boring filler which creates too much tortilla destroying juice. Any if you're going to charge $2 for guacamole, don't water it down to the point that there are more tomatoes than avocados.

Having said all that, and considering it was purchased in an airport fast food shop, it was filling and hit the spot.
